How to Use Instagram Account Switching to Your Advantage
Finally, the Instagram update we’ve all been waiting for has made having multiple accounts so much easier!
Social media practitioners and brand managers alike can now find it easier to switch between different Instagram accounts without having to log off and re-enter different usernames.
How to Switch Between Multiple Accounts
As noted by Instagram’s Help Center, you can only add up to 5 accounts and is only available on version 7.15 for iOS and Android. Depending on which account you have notifications turned on for, you can receive push notifications from any of them at any moment.
Gain Followers & Amplify Your Brand(s)
Similar to what Twitter users do to amplify their brand, you can now tag and share your different accounts, as long as they’re relevant to the brand.
This tactic is seen so often among Instagram users, especially in the #fitspo community. Often, popular IG accounts or IG celebrities will be asked for a shoutout or to have a featured photo in their profile. Now, using the account switching update, you can do this yourself and caption it “Follow _______, for more pictures like this!” as often as you’d like (without looking spammy).
We’ve waited long enough for this update and the only thing left in making Instagram a great social media platform is to include links in the caption of a post, but for now, a website link in the bio will suffice.
